How to give and receive feedback

Kontext / Contexte
To work well with students and colleagues (and outside of work too) we all need to be good at giving and (sometimes more importantly) receiving feedback. In this workshop, we will explore techniques and attitudes we can use to make this process easier and more effective. We will discuss and practice how to share constructive feedback and how to digest feedback we receive.
Zielsetzung / Objectifs
Knowledge
Participants will understand:
- why feedback matters,
- what are triggers standing in the way of constructive conversation,
- how to navigate a feedback conversation.
Skills
Participants will be able to:
- apply techniques introduced and practised in the workshop,
- identify the triggers blocking them from giving/receiving feedback effectively,
- formulate their feedback in a more effective way.
Attitudes
Participants will (hopefully) :
- embrace feedback giving and receiving,
- understand others better and be more open to hear them out
- alleviate stress connecting to feedback.
Inhalt / Contenu
In the workshop, we will discuss theoretical models and how they reflect reality we all deal with. We will focus on understanding key tools and practising them.
After the first session, participants will have two weeks to practice the skills and tools discussed in the workshop.
In the second session, we will reflect on how well we applied what we learned and strengthen the tools for the future.

An in-person workshop where participants explore and discuss the theory as well as try out techniques and tools by themselves.
