Kontext / Contexte
This training aims at imparting theoretical knowledge as well as practical guidance on how to detect and support students with AD(H)D. In this context, the role of attention processes, concentration, and executive functioning is discussed.
Zielsetzung / Objectifs
Knowledge
The participants will know:
- about executive functions, attention processes, and how they influence behaviour and performance in different contexts
- about the relation between executive functioning and diagnoses like ADD / ADHD
- about difficult behaviour by students and changing the response to it
- examples of everyday practice at school
- about adjustments at the level of the environment
- support tools / methods / strategies to implement into daily life at school or in a 1:1 or small group setting.
Know-how
The participants will be abe to:
- differentiate between light difficulties in attention and special educational needs in the area of executive functioning
- support executive function difficulties in everyday life at school
- interpret difficulties in concentration / attention and their causes
- react towards children with different issues.
Posture
The participants will:
- inquire and be curious
- be open-minded and self-reflective
- participate actively.
Inhalt / Contenu
An interactive course that combines theory with practical examples from everyday life at school and / or at home. Teachers, support teachers, educators, pedagogues, psychologists learn about how to detect symptoms of poor attention processes and executive functioning and how to implement specific interventions into everyday life at school, into 1:1 support situations or into small group settings.
Arbeitsformen / Approche méthodologique
The training is interactive and uses a theoretical framework paired with more practical examples on how to use certain support tools in class. Participants can also bring and discuss their student cases (anonymised) in the course.
