Mérite Jeunesse Award Leader
(Code : B2-e-04)
Kontext / Contexte
Not all learning happens in the classroom. Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens of the world.
As a non-formal education framework, the Award can play a vital role in providing opportunities for young people to develop essential life skills, increase their employability and foster their creativity and well-being.
The Mérite Jeunesse is part of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. The Award is about personal challenge and development and is adaptable to each participant's interests and abilities. It presents young people with a balanced program of voluntary activities, encouraging personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility and service to their community.
The role of an Award Leader is to guide and mentor the participants. Award Leaders help to set achievable goals, offer encouragement and facilitate success in the Award.
