Inhalt / Contenu
The F.use Young Adult Literature Book Club in English for secondary school teachers will meet regularly, with each session focusing on an in-depth exploration of a selected literary work. Through collaborative reading, discussions, and expertise sharing, teachers will enrich their pedagogical toolkit and foster a passion for literature in their students.
Each session of the Book Club includes the following steps:
1. Introduction: A dedicated Moodle platform provides participants with information about the author and the context of the work. Furthermore, participants are given a questionnaire to contemplate while reading so as to focus their own opinions and to analyze the work.
2. Individual Reading Phase: Participants read the novel at their own pace at home, and complete the questionnaire. Participants must hand in their answers before the Book Club Discussion.
3. Book Club Discussion: Participants share their thoughts on the work, and discuss the appropriateness of the work for secondary school teaching.
In a separate, optional training session, participants collaboratively develop a teaching sequence based on the proposed work.
