The participants will learn the contents of the new Handbook specifications for the written exam in 1ère.

Know-how
The participants will be able to:
- share good practice guidelines for item writing and item moderation in exam contexts
- create and share a pool of sample papers.

Posture
The participants will:
- reflect on their teaching practice
- communicate constructively and take an active part in the discussions.

Inhalt / Contenu

In this workshop we will briefly introduce both rationale and content of the new handbook. We will look in detail at some of the changes that have been introduced, focusing in particular on the rationale and foci underlying the two new reading comprehension tasks.
The practical part of the workshop will focus on the sharing of good practice standards in item design and item moderation as well as the actual writing / design and compilation of ready-to-use test-items and / or fully integrated exam-papers.
Arbeitsformen / Approche méthodologique

A short presentation (and discussion) will be provided in a workshop at the LGE.
This will be followed by hands-on homework during which participants are invited to design and compile their own exam tasks, including elements such as selected-response items (e.g. multiple choice, matching, insert the sentences / headings, ...). During this stage, workshop leaders can be contacted online for guidance and assistance.
Participants will meet again in a second workshop during which they will moderate each other's exams, writing and receiving constructive feedback. The above should eventually result in the creation of a large pool of sample exam tasks that can then be used to practice the new exam format with students who are currently in 2e and / or that can be used in classroom tests in the second semester in 1ère.
