Inhalt / Contenu
- Introduction: things that help ADHD-ers will also help Neurotypicals
- study habit help: body doubling and the different ways to do this, motivation e.g. treats, brain breaks for when your brain just won’t continue (AND learning to accept this & move on productively with no self-shame!)
- coping with medication: there is no cure for ADHD, however one still has to remember to take medication appropriately which is really hard, whilst figuring out the correct dosage there could be side effects like tiredness, may not help at all
- Focus in class:
* generally: 100's of reasons why focus is hard; allowed to go off to study, make subject interesting for ADHD-er, headphones, allowed to move around at the back of the class, fidget toys
* staff & parents: no one ADHD-er is the same as the next; things like extra time in an exam may not help, or it may not help in that specific exam
* organisation: losing fidget toys, pay a € 5 refundable deposit, only have inexpensive toys, try to do things immediately, will probably have to change regularly the best method to avoid boredom, label everything, masking tape is easy, why an ADHD-er may be obsessive, those closest understanding, simplicity / minimalism
- ending: Q&A if time; could pre submit.
