Kontext / Contexte
To train the teachers associated with KS1 on how to successfully implement Learning through Play here at ISML. To know the benefits of LtP as a whole and on board the team.
Zielsetzung / Objectifs
Knowledge
The participants will learn about:
- the change occurring – space, timetable, expectation
- viewing play as a vehicle for learning
- the impact LtP will have on our students.
Know-how
The participants will be able to:
- enrich the LtP enviornment
- plan and consider what activities will complement objectives
- support the learning taking place effectively.
Posture
The participants will:
- approach LtP in a collaborative and inclusive manner
- get their awareness raised regarding the benefits in KS1
- view potential solutions to barriers to further develop the LtP.
Inhalt / Contenu
- Learning through Play at ISML
- the vision (looks, feels, sounds)
- who benefits?
- why is this important / worthwhile?
- objectives (incl. acvitity vs. objective)
- types of provision goals / child-led / adult-led / focused
- how this applies to specialists
- what is expected (incl. when)?
- barriers and solutions
- what skills do we have?
- what skills do we need to develop?
- essential agreements
- bring back to vision / walk around each area
- what steps need to be taken?
- where would you like further training?
- brainstorm planning on proforma.
Arbeitsformen / Approche méthodologique
- Presentation incl. videos / quotes of research / images
- group work (planning / brainstorming / essential agreements)
- being within the environment for the training.
