Language policies at Accredited European Schools (Code : A-a-24-EF-ES-EEALV)
Kontext / Contexte
In contrast to Luxembourg school, the Accredited European Schools operate with a different language policy. This particularity needs to be considered in the pedagogical concept, in the organisation of human resources and in the evaluation system.
Zielsetzung / Objectifs
Knowledge
The participants will learn:
- how the language sections are organised
- how the dominant language differs from the language sections L2 to L4
- what parents have to consider when children have or want to change the dominant language.
Know-how
The participants will be able to:
- apply the acquired knowledge in the context of the development of the pedagogical concept
- explain the language policies to parents and students.
Posture
The participants will be aware of the language particularities in Accredited European Schools.
Inhalt / Contenu
- The organisation of the language sections L1, L2, L3, L4
- the meaning of the dominante langue
- the objectives of the "cours de langue (CECR)"
- the particularities of teaching languages in Accredited European schools, especially in L2, L3 and L4
- the procedures for changing language sections.
