Kontext / Contexte
Since coding is implemented in primary schools from this year, it will be important to start early and get the children introduced to coding. This course will show the teachers how to introduce children age 12 year onwards to coding with unplugged activities and developing mobile apps with MIT AppInventor.
Zielsetzung / Objectifs
Participants will learn:
- basic Computer Science concepts
- computational thinking, problem-solving
- building mobile apps with MIT App Inventor.
Participants will be able to:
- integrate unplugged or offscreen activities into the classroom
- create stories, animations, games, apps using MIT AppInventor
- integrate creative computing into the classroom.
Participants should be:
- open-minded
- creative
- willing to introduce new age concepts for the young children
- inspired to inspire.
Inhalt / Contenu
Live sessions Thursdays 16h – 17h
Session 1 – Live session on MS Teams: Introduction
Session 2 - Video tutorial: Four seasons – learn how to create an app, change the background, move through screens, and respond to events
Session 3 – Video tutorial: Tell me a story – learn how to create an app that speaks out the story written
Session 4 – Live session on MS Teams: Questions, comments, sharing of projects created by participants, ideas on how to extend it to the classroom
Session 5 – Video tutorial: Introduction to Computer Science concepts – Unplugged or offscreen activity Binary
Session 6 – Video tutorial: Flip a Coin – learn how to make a game where the user can flip a coin and randomly a side is selected
Session 7 – Live session on MS Teams: Questions, comments, sharing of projects created by participants, ideas on how to extend it to the classroom
Session 8 – Video tutorial: Get the Gold – learn how to create a game by responding to events
Session 9 – Video tutorial: Mole Mash – learn how to create a game by responding to events
Session 10 – Live session on MS Teams: Questions, comments, sharing of projects created by participants, ideas on how to extend it to the classroom

Une connexion Microsoft Teams, un microphone et une caméra sont indispensables pour participer à cette formation (PC ou ordinateur portable, pas d'iPad ni de smartphone). Vous serez ajouté/e à votre groupe dans Teams un jour ouvrable avant la première séance. Si possible, veuillez vous connecter à MS Teams 5 minutes avant le début du webinaire.
